HONG KONG PART 2……….DAY 3 - Sha-Tin

Exploring the new environment and discovering places to eat

Forming the cornerstone of a huge retail development complex, my hotel for the next week’s stay is therefore within walking distances from ample shopping and food related attractions.

To familiarize myself with the new environment, I spent the whole day strolling the multi-level and multi-stage mall, its miles of arcade floors whilst doing some window shopping and eying for potential eating venues…..which I found aplenty.

An amazing collection of international and ethnic cuisine choices all congregated inside this multiplex. From Chinese to Thai to Japanese to Vietnamese to Italian, French, Western seafood and steak houses…..etc…..even a Shake Shack Burger!

During the free time I had on my own, I did something brave and uncharacteristic! Without doing any research on social media, I impromptu tried out some unfamiliar Pho and Hainanese chicken rice places! The result from the delightful, well prepared and authentic food was unexpectedly enjoyable!
Of course, upon discovering they have branches inside the mall, there’s no way for me NOT to try out two of my perennial, old local Hong Kong favorites …Dim Sum at Tim Ho Wan and Hong Kong style noodle products at Tasty’s!

Old habits die hard?! I guess?!

Oh! …..and also some occasional, tempting desserts from patisseries that happened to surround me?! Ha!
BTW, currently ’ Bakehouse ’ is supposed to be one of Hong Kong’s best Patisserie/Boulangerie. Tried out a Pain Au Chocolat!..Meh!! Not even in the same class as our DUO!!
