[Hong Kong]- breakfast recs. Kowloon

Off to Hong Kong tomorrow, very excited. I’ve done a fair bit of research but need help for breakfast near our hotel. We are staying at The Stanford Hill View on Observatory road. Would like something fairly close (no more than 15 min walk), non western and relatively inexpensive. Bonus points for dim sum.

Also any recs. For good liu sha bao in Hong Kong appreciated.

TIA

Chris

Pretty tough, the constrain :wink: and most better dim sum places open late in the morning or noon.

If you like the old style Dim Sum with trolleys, should try Lin Heung Tea House in Central or Sheung Wan (middle range), I think it is covered here in HO already. If you are a big dim sum fan, you should try at least 1 higher end dim sum meal, discussed in the thread below.

Cuisine Cuisine at the Mira Hotel is 6 minutes’ walk from your hotel. Not exactly “inexpensive”, but its dim sum is of the highest quality.

You can also try the local restaurant search engine Open Rice (besides, well, the Michelin guide). Restaurant with 4 stars and above are usually considered as really good. Locals are quite harsh, 3.5 is still good but below is definitely a no, no.

Cuisine Cuisine and Lung King Heen of Four Seasons Hotel are the best dim sum in Central area. Actually the TST branch is cheaper than the Central IFC branch for the same food. (Rent is sure more expensive in IFC, Central).

@paprikaboy
Let’s say you are moderate eater, a 2 or 3 stars Michelin dim sum lunch will cost you about $45 USD, still a good bargain compared to a 3 star lunch in France, for example.
