Honest Weight [The Junction, Toronto]

I picked up dinner at Honest Weight tonight. It was ready in 20 minutes.

The restaurant has a capacity for 28 people. It was completely full at 7 pm on a Friday. I hadn’t visited in close to 5 years. I’ll definitely be back soon.

I ordered a feature, a softshell crab sandwich which was not on the printed menu. I love softshell crab, and it’s rare to find American softshell crabs in Toronto.

I also ordered the chowder. There were quite a few small mussels, some shrimp and bay scallops in this bowl. My close- up photo was awful, so I didn’t upload it. This chowder is the thinner cream-type that is not thickened with flour.

It’s usually a 3 week window, at a few top restaurants.

Honest Weight’s fish counter. Fish is available to buy for cooking at home, as well as for dining in.

Honest Weight sells some canned seafood.

Same. The last meal I had there was the seafood okonomiyaki. It was excellent.
