HO Lunch at Laghman Express on Tues 4/30

run it back tues with 6 new dishes?

Living vicariously…this is vaguely near where my son lives, although he has just started a new job at another Pete Wells’ 100, so I suspect it will be a while before he has time to catch up with me, but I will keep it in mind! Thanks for sharing it all! And I can’t wait till I can retire and be more available for mid-week lunch!

Yesterday, at a United Nations bazaar, I picked up a takeout menu for a second location of Laghman Express. It seems to have opened in December 2024 at 2376 Coney Island Ave., near Ave. U, in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Both here and at the original location, 6201 20th Ave., in Bensonhurst, the menu now seems half again as large as it was last spring, when we visited the original (even if you disregard a separate menu of sushi, sashimi, and poke in Gravesend). Time for another laghman lunch?

Definitely!! Pick a date!

We ate from the Coney Island Ave location a couple of weeks ago. It was packed on a Sunday early evening with a long line outside.

The samsa, dry fried noodles, and cumin lamb were all great. My last samsa experience left me wary of hidden gristle, but there was none. The noodles were bouncy and had significant wok hei. I thought the cumin lamb was a tad dry but well balanced.

The menu looks like it expanded a bit in dumplings and doughs

I’m in, especially having resisted every samsa at the UN :woman_facepalming:t2:

Im glad they are successful, they have a good formula and their samsa was the best I have had, pretty much tho I guess we had some as good in Uzbekistan in 2018.

I would like to reassure everybody by saying that I’m out.
