We’re taking my uncle for high tea as a belated Christmas present. I haven’t been for years and years, and I don’t know where’s good these days. It will have to be on a weekend, and I’d prefer something that won’t cost my entire paycheck. Suggestions? Thanks!
My immediate recommendations would be L’Espalier, Taj, Bristol Lounge and the Langham (most traditional). However I wouldn’t consider any of them inexpensive.
I’ve never been, but have heard good things about the tea at the Boston Public Library. I’d imagine it might be a bit less inexpensive in a beautiful and unique setting to boot.
pedantic: you’re looking for afternoon tea, not high tea. sorry.
agree with uni’s rec’s. if you skip any booze the tea service is still about $40 pp.
