Does anyone know what is going on with Hemicycle? I’ve tried to book online and no availability is showing for months on end. Reached out via email and no response.
Looks to me like the reservation system just isn’t working, period: no reservation is available, no matter what the date all the way out. Perhaps they are switching to a new system that isn’t active yet? Also, it’s alas not uheard of to have emails to a restaurant go unanswered. I’d suggest calling (if you don’t speak French, I’m 99+% certain that they will speak to you on the phone in English).

It could be the email went unanswered this time. I’ve been before and had communicated by email so figured they would respond. Will try again and then give a call if no response.
Update - now shows permanently closed. Too bad.
Yes, it is closed since mid December, the restaurant has lasted 3 years. The chefs Flavio Lucarini and Aurora Storari now take over Substance. Note that both restaurants Hémicycle and Substance are in Stéphane Manigold’s empire.
As for Matthias Marc, he has quitted Substance since end of December (worked there 7 years) and he is still one of the owners of Liquide in Paris that he has created. He is preparing another restaurant project in his native Jura that will open in summer 2026.
So you should probably reserve Substance, but the style of both restaurants are different.
