For some reason Monday on the North Fork is a challenge. Lots of places were closed. Some looked as they may not reopen even though it’s the middle of June already.
We decided to try The Halyard for our first time since it was a lovely night and The Halyard is right on LI Sound. No such luck, PRIVATE EVENT.
So, on we went to an old reliable favorite: Hellenic Snack Bar which is always nothing short of amazing.
We ate Al Fresco on their patio. It was good to see how busy they are. Maybe because all of the “Rookies” close on Monday?
We ordered the Grilled Octopus appetizer special, tender and tasty.
For entrees: Moussaka, perfectly prepared and a huge portion.
The star of our meal was the grilled whole sea bass. A nice sized fish grilled to perfection as only the Greeks know how. The fish was large enough to feed three.
We had lots of leftovers.
Get to The Hellenic Snack Bar before the crowds descend on us. Make sure you have the home made lemonade.
