Harolds New York Deli

One in Lyndhurst, and then the other in Edison, both using the same logos on their website:

Website for Lyndhurst:

http://haroldsnydeli.com/

Website for Edison:

http://haroldsfamousdeli.com/

The one in Edison the logos are throbbing, and further includes this warning:

“HAROLD JAFFE, OWNER
OF HAROLD’S NY DELI IN EDISON NEW JERSEY
IS NOT IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH
HAROLD’S DELI IN ANY OTHER LOCATION”

Then there is this:

There has to be a saftig story behind all of this, anybody know what gives?

Did I read five felony convictions? :astonished:

Five priors in addition to the new one. Yep.

The article about Spyridon Gizas is almost 5 years old. As noted, his restaurant closed.

Yeah but what about Lyndhurst, which is still open, vs. Edison?

Will the real Harold’s New York (but not in New York) please step forward?

The “real” Harold (Harold Jaffe) is at the one in Edison almost every day. As the website says he has nothing to do with the one In Lyndhurst.

This whole “Harold thing” was discussed to death on Chowhound many years ago. If you do a search there, you can find everything you ever wanted to know about Harold’s but were afraid to ask.

Is there a condensed version without having to do that.

I really detest chowhound.

Not really.

Ok I’ll bring this oldie but goodie up! Last night of my son’s birthday weekend. Everything was great but the Mac n cheese was horrible, truly flavorless limp noodles. The service was also very slow. Still a fun night with the family!

That all looks great except for the mac, which looks like something squeezed out of a food service bag.
