About a year ago Harlan Publick opened in SoNo and there is a new chef with a great touch of combining tropical flavors with just a touch of heat. It also has a great outdoor terrace with a roaring fire, bocce and corn hole to play. I ate there last week and it was great. An octopus carpaccio terrine (never seen that before), mussels with coconut, curry and lemongrass, and an outrageous Scotch egg where he subsituted crab meat for the sausage in a Scotch bonnet aioli. Wow!. Then some outstanding shortribs (he used cow hoofs to make the filkiest sauce I have ever tasted), some ribs plus a tomahawk steak. Pretty outrageous food. For a full review with pix check out
