I’ll just skip over the fray that is the “holidays” and say Happy New Year to ya’ll in the Houston forum and all those other Hungry Onions out there.
I’ve had a few run ins with Father Time, Fate and Misfortune in recent months, but also say I can count many blessings, the most important of which is that I still breathe air at this moment, and I also enjoy plenty of good food and and the proximity of small children who share my cellular biology. My cat continues to vex my very existence and I wonder, as do we all, “how do you get rid of a pet you are not suited to, but who you have grown unnaturally attached to?”
I will leave you in 2016 with this picture from The Original Brennan’s Steakhouse on I-10, and trust you will not judge me for ordering the 6 ounce filet with the (REAL) truffled butter topping that actually matches the steak in size. Because this is a once a year indulgence and is the saving grace for our Houston friend Mr. Tilman Fertitta.
