Handheld food for Universal Studio?

Last year we had the question of what are good handheld food for Disneyland. This year its the same question for Universal Studio. I am not going but asking for the family. They seem to allow food in backpacks, not in coolers.

Are there any restaurants or grocery stores nearby where we can get good food that is easy to consume with one hand, or maybe two if it isn’t super difficult to eat, that we can get the night/ afternoon before, or if they are open super early. Sandwiches, banh mi, musubi are some ideas. Other ideas welcome. The key is that we prefer the food to be tasty. Food that doesn’t taste good cold is out. Last year we had some burritos and it would be much better hot.

Separately, any good, convenient, late night sit down eats to be had around the park, after the park visit?

Thanks!

Where are they staying?

They are staying within walking distance of Universal Studio.

Here are some options.

For doner and gyros

For wraps, sandwiches and gyros.

For pitas and laffas

For late-night sit down dinner near the park, your options are limited unless you are willing to drive a bit (esp. to Koreatown).

Thank you! I will look into the suggestions.

Just curious, is there an intense gyros doner, etc competition going on around the park? seems like the choices are quite vast.

Demographics.

Large middle eastern population in/around universal city, burbank, etc.

And just generally a large Armenian population in the San Fernando Valley (where Universal is).

I don’t know Armenian food well on whether they differ from the doner, gyro, any Armenian recs?

I don’t even pretend to be an Armenian food expert, but I really like this place and I am told it is a true deal Armenian bakery.

So far, they have been to La Super Rica in Santa Barbara. Wife said the masa / tortilla was great. El Bajio was closed for half a month for holidays.

Magherita and house special from Flour Pizzeria on the way from the Getty Villa to the Getty Center. It was said to be good.

Chiang Mai Thai near the hotel.

Susuru Ramen Bar, near Griffith Observatory. They said the meat was good. Broth was nice. Not quite Japan level but still quite good.

Zhengyalov Hatz, which is quite close to one of the hotels- they got the Zhengyalov Hatz, the shawarma, and the paxlava. Wife said she liked the Zhengyalov Hatz (the herb-filled Armenian flatbread). She claimed i might not like it. I of course have no way of knowing.

Most of these were picked for the proximity to where they were.
