Not grocery shopping. Today I visited a Costco Business Center that opened north of me. I bought 2 8 qt Cambro containers with lids for $30. Same containers on Amason.ca $78.
Of course some callebaut chocolate chips were also bought. Best price there too.
Newmarket?
the Quality Street tins are marked down to around $8.48 at Freshco, some Holiday Ferrero Rocher are also marked down to around 70 percent off
Yes. I use to go to the Scarborough one and they had 2 aisles filled with kitchen stuff. This one only has 1 aisle. I dont know maybe costco has cut down on how much it carries.
I also bought a flat of mushrooms. They are so fresh. Its going to be a mushroom feast here this week. Mushroom soup, mushroom galette, etc..
Iâm willing to pay it just to be on Canada.
I donât personally have a problem with our prices or our social system.
I am worried that healthy food is becoming too expensive for many people in Canada, though, relative to the cost of living and wages. I have been donating more food to community fridges and more money to the food bank.
Ontarians, these look good. I will try them soon.
It is interesting how theyâve tailored the stock to Brazilian and Portuguese tastes, though itâs a shame the Italian tuna selection didnât quite meet your expectations!
Yes, Iâm expecting the same in the US.
I have just been checking the grocery store flyers and for those living in Ontario, Food Basics has cases of mangoes on sale starting tomorrow for $6.98 and Loblaws and Your Independent Grocer will be selling them for $7 a case. There are usually 12 mangoes in a case. Also, Your Independent has chicken drumsticks on sale for $1.99/lb. I havenât seen them that cheap in awhile.
good price for Bonne Maman jam at No Frills this week. $5 per jar from $7.50
Canadian Cadbury creme eggs are down to 93 cents each.
some foreign candy is pretty cheap
You found Peace by Chocolate?!? I would love to hear what you think of it if you decide to try it.
I tried the Tonyâs Chocolonely recently and itâs really good.
I think you should be able to find Peace By Chocolate at Loblaws in Ottawa.
I have not seen it at No Frills, Sobeyâs, Food Basics, or Metro.
I tried half a dozen different Peace By Chocolate bars in 2023. Most are milk chocolate based and on the sweet side for me. I like Ritter Sport better (of course, that isnât Canadian-made!)
Thanks for the heads up. I will try my local Your Independent first since they carry a lot of local products. They actually have a section of the store dedicated to local foods so they are most likely to have it. If not I will try the Loblaws nearest to home since they seemed to have reorganized the store recently and they seem to be offering more products. The Loblaws I go to is small by todayâs standards so they are often out of stock on the popular items.
Peace By Chocolate does have a few dark chocolate items. We tried some at their Halifax store a couple of years ago and they were pretty good.
Good to know. I am going to follow up on @Zoeliculious recommendation and try Loblaws first and if all else fails I am going to find out if there is anywhere in Ottawa (where I live) that sells different brands of chocolates. We have lots of stores in town that sell their own chocolates but I would like to try Peace for Chocolate and I am now keeping my eyes peeled for those small Lindt chocolate bars I used to get and Costco but no longer seem to carry. (Itâs the box of 35g bars I am looking for.)
I should clarify that I have tried some dark chocolate Peace by Chocolate, sold by a small boutique in London, ON. It was a better than the milk chocolate for me, but I guess I wouldnât go too far out of my way for their dark chocolate bars to seek it out.
My local London Loblaws only carries a few milk chocolate varieties right now. I havenât seen any dark Peace by Chocolate at Loblaws.
