Grill House of Yonkers (mini-review) [Westchester, NY]

I was browsing UberEats for a new delivery option and stumbled across Grill House of Yonkers by searching for kibbeh, one of my favorite treats (and one I haven’t had in Westchester since Yara’s closed a couple of years ago). What a find! We ordered a smorgasboard of middle eastern (or more accurately Jordanian, as the owners are from Amman) delights: kibbeh, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, cucumbers in yogurt, hummus topped with beef shawarma and arayes (pitas stuffed with a ground meat filling and grilled). All delicious, but for me the grape leaves and kibbeh were standouts - the grape leaves were super tender and filled with creamy, perfectly seasoned rice, and the kibbeh were ultra crispy with thin shells, bursting with oniony, meaty filling. Their hummus was also FANTASTIC - extra smooth and nicely balanced in terms of tahini/lemon/garlic flavors. I also had a piece of pistachio baklava for dessert - fine but not the best rendition I’ve had, was a little skimpy on nuts and needed a bit of salt to balance the intense sweetness.

I ordered from their website rather than UberEats as the prices are a bit lower (plus you avoid most of the nonsense fees UberEats charges). Their website also has some specials that you can’t find on UberEats. This will become a new regular spot for us, for sure. https://grillhouseofyonkers.com/shop/
