Green Papaya Salad

I picked this grater up from my local Thai supermarket for $6. The assistant showed me that it came in two sizes, a smaller blade for sauce ingredients, and this slightly larger one for salads.

Works really well and seems a bit safer than a mandolin. No idea how long it will last but it made really short work of a green papaya.

For those who don’t have easy access to green papayas or those like me who find this easier or those like my mom who prefers the taste or those scared of sharp shredding instruments

I’m eating a Vietnamese version salad right now

Ha, I preferred the old ImportFood site. It was faster and the same information, yet more information on the screen at one time.

It is costly to return items there, otherwise I would have tried the miracle knife already.

I have that tamarind board. It’s nice, but small. I use it for fun, makes me feel like I’m a real Thai cook.

Oh yeah, you are right. It is only 9 inch in diameter. Somehow I was hoping for a much larger one.
