And ick.

Some Tim’s have had issues lately. I stopped going to one location in LdnOnt because of a hepatitis outbreak. A Barrie Tim Hortons had a outbreak in June 2025.

They keep adding to the list of recalled items. Maybe it’s time to take a pistachio break, sadly.

This recall is in London, ON, at a small independent grocery store called Pistachio’s that is focused on Middle Eastern goods and halal goods.

I have shopped there once before, for vegetables and frozen baklava. I haven’t purchased their meat products.

I’ve never heard of someone getting salmonella from baklava before.

Agora on Queen W has always been pretty disappointing and overpriced in my experience .

It looks like the ingredients contain pistachios.

“Matano said she’s never seen any pests inside the store but has seen some rat droppings in its rice area.”

On the topic of rice sold in Ontario, I had little tiny dead bugs in a new bag of Tilda basmati .

No issues with Dainty basmati.

That can happen at the store as much as at the manufacturer. Bugs can get into the most tightly sealed packages. Be careful.
