A St Louis Bar and Grill, an Ontario chain specialized in hot wings has opened in the old Scallywags space.

@moderators , could someone please remove my typo after 2025 in the subject line? :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks in advance.

Paris Baguette has opened on Yonge Street, just north of Broadway. Popped in for a quick looky loo, decent looking selection of pastries :moon_cake:, coffee and some hot foods. Seating area available. I’ll give it a shot eventually.

Tavazo has good quality products. I’ve ordered from them often. Their barberries are particularly nice.

Yes, they certainly do.

Hope it will do well. The RH one had fresh dates that were sooo good … well previously frozen. They were also the only place I could find pistachio butter ($$$$$).

I have bought pistachio butter elsewhere. Quite a few Italian shops sell a sweetened pistachio butter or pistachio cream. I’ve bought an unsweetened version before, too. I’ll let you know next time I see either, elsewhere!

I hope it does well, too.

I wanted pistachio butter that was just pistachios. Most I’ve seen in Italian stores have added sugar and oil. And the pistachio cream I’ve seen at Costco has dairy (I’m dairy free)

The Roasted Nut Company on Queen Street sells pistachio butter. I think they ship province-wide. All of their nut butters have one ingredient (the nut), with no additives and no sweeteners. The pistachio nut butter is expensive, but really delicious! https://theroastednutcompany.com

Thank you! I’ll check them out. Price is slight less than Tavazo

Grabbed a couple of donuts from the newly opened Paris Baguette.
Jumbo sugar twist, pretty good probably better when fresh outta the oven , not sure I’d have it again.
Pecan king cream donut, now this I’d have again , very tasty :yum:
Prices are on par for the neighborhood(except for Timmies), $5.50-$5.95 per pastry, and they open at 6am like a bakery should.

If BlogTO is to be believed, the consulting chef was the head chef of the famed Ho Lee Fook. But the IG dishes looks… boring?

Consulting chef doesn’t carry too much weight for me these days. LOL Good to know.

I was wondering why this place had so many followers already on IG. That explains it.

It’s funny, because some Reddit youngsters were whining that Little Italy needs more fast food after Golden Wheat closed the College Street location.

I wouldn’t mind a cheaper indie diner or brunch spot on College, between Bathurst and Clinton. There is Bkookie’s which seoes not appeal to me so I haven’t been.

Easy has had a location on College St 10 years ago. There obviously wasn’t enough foot traffic to keep that going.

Boom, Café Diplomatico (which had its front windows broken recently), and Sicilian Ice Cream Café have cheap breakfasts now. Vinotecca Pompette now has a daily brunch menu.

Carolina on Dundas near Markham also is doing Italian caffe during the day, restaurant at night.

Totally agree!!
Just look at LSL! Charging nearly $1000 for a tasting menu just because they use a Michelin 3* chef as a consultant!
