The ex-manager, Sunny and the entire O’Mei kitchen team will be resurrecting this popular ex-icon and re-opening at the current ’ High Tech Road - Star-Chiva ’ location…currently under renovation.
NEW place to be called ’ NEW O’MEI '!!

Based on feedback from ’ Sunny ’ , the new entity will follow the format of the old O’Mei, including popular house specialities and multiple ways preparation of lobsters, King Crabs, Yellow Fin Garoupa…etc. After all, the former kitchen team was kept intact during the closure and will re-surface as a whole?!
I guess Ringo did not want to be involved?
I heard he decided to retire and enjoy life!!
Restaurant life is NOT easy!!..wise decision by him, IMHO!
Just to add from what I heard the High Tech location is currently Starchiva Delight (SD) which I’m told is still operating there (someone can confirm?) so there’s no renovation as yet. When SD is eventually out, they will be moving to Time Square location @Hwy 7 & Leslie, so they’re not gone.

Proposed ’ New O’ Mei ’ - SAD NEWS!!
Seems like the proposed new venture to resurrect the old O’ Mei, led by its ex-Manager, Sunny and most of the old O’ Mei kitchen staff, has fallen through!
The proposed location for the ’ New O’Mei ‘…the current High-tech road ‘StarChiva’ still remains as is.
The old O’ Mei location on Hwy#7 has also re-opened as a totally new entity with no relations to the Old O’ Mei.
Apparently, the reason for the new project’s failure was because a few of the Chefs have been working elsewhere and refused to gamble, quit and join the new venture?!
