GOOD EATS NYC 2024 (A Blanket Thread)

Excellent meal at Olle, a Jeju inspired concept Korean on 30th (5th). The specialty is Galbi Jjim - Braised short ribs with oyster mushrooms and more that continues to cook on the table. Wish there were more mushrooms but beef flavor was spot on. Its $80 for 2 (there’s also a mini $70 version), and it comes with a Banchan set of 8, all excellent especially the Kimchi, 2 large sides of your choice for $10 more. One of which is Bibim Naengmyeon, cold noodles with spicy sauce. People rave about this, but I found the sauce too sharp for the delicate noodles and quickly got bored with it. The other side was a fried rice dish that they do late in the meal with the leftover Galbi Jjim pot and that was great, but comes with some confusion on how long we were supposed to wait for it to be fully cooked, and have decent amount of Socarrat.

We also tried the Skate with Soy-Garlic sauce which was really good. And Pork bone soup with potatoes, perilla leaves & seeds. Phenomenal tasting broth, but even though it came as advertised, frustratingly bony meat.
Out of the 4, Mrs Z was the only one who didnt care for the experience, but I suspect it was because she wasnt drinking. Final bill after tip $50 pp
