Chili Garden in Medford was my go-to for takeout Chinese. I’m sorry to say they closed about a week ago. Does anyone have any recommendations for Chinese restaurants that would deliver to Davis Square?

I loved Chili Garden. Their disappearance would be (for me) the saddest restaurant closing since Fu Loon. You probably know Zoe’s. Zoe’s has gone up and down over the years, but is often really good, but I don’t think they have ever been fabulous since before they moved across the street to their present location. There is also QingDao Garden which some people swear by.
I’m in Porter Square, so Dumpling House on the far side of Harvard Square has been my primary alternative to Chili Garden.

Not in Davis proper, but if you use the T to get around, Szechuan’s Dumpling in Arlington was quite tasty the last couple of times I’ve been (albeit, it’s been a while). Straight shot down Mass Ave on the 77 bus. Should take ~15-20 minutes without traffic.

I agree word for word with this.
We actually just had Zoe’s for Christmas Eve, and with a big crowd had a chance to order a lot of different dishes. None of them were standouts, sadly, although most were adequate. I had to steer away from the more interesting and spicy stuff, so that may have biased the results, but still.
I like the dumplings from QingDao, but have had some real misses for regular dishes.
I miss Wang’s terribly.
Dumpling House is the best, but it’s a bit far for delivery to Davis- I’m not sure if they will.
