This never happened to me on a desktop, but on an iphone/ Firefox, the software would ‘log me off’ from time to time. But I am not actually logged off. Reloading the browser log me right back in. So next time if you are logged off, try reloading.

I still get logged off on my computer (most often using chrome) and refresh doesn’t help.
But hey, my user name is not exactly burdensome to type.

Just now I got logged off while navigating back to the home page, after having just posted a comment 10 seconds prior.
I think that’s the first time I’ve been logged off without at least a half hour or more inactivity.

The logging off glitch is back as of a couple of days (on iPhone).
Was there another update that caused it?
Reloading the page once or twice usually fixes it.
The site software / server hasn’t been changed in the last few months. So any changes may be unrelated to the site setup.
Weird. I haven’t updated the software on my phone either. Will clear cookies and see if that fixes it.
