Géméllus, Paris 7

I had actually reserved at Géméllus for our first lunch back in Paris today based on onzieme’s first review.

They had already changed the menu since onz’ most recent visit (I was hoping to have that veal). The confit trout in a green gazpacho starter was fantastic. My wife’s brill in a sauce with wasabi foam (different from what was printed on the menu) was very good. The sauce and accompaniments for my steak (the only other choice) were very good, but the quality of the piece of meat was not; our only disappointment in the meal. The amuse - especially the goat cheese cigars - and desserts and mignardise were all quite good as well. The quantity of food was plenty for a lunch.

We went with the 3 course 49E lunch, a great value, but I find it interesting how they price it, as leaving out dessert it becomes an absolute steal at 35E. If I lived in Paris, I think I’d come back every couple weeks at that price.
