Gaia, London: ‘Nosebleedingly expensive’ – restaurant review

Jay Rayner strikes again. Hilarious review of a “refined” Greek that sounds like a thirst trap for dumb rich peeps :joy:

He cracks me up every time. I even got his book The Man Who Ate The World. I should read the other ones, too!

Strange that I can read both of these articles on here, but not on FB. :man_shrugging:

Eh. We all know Fb’s a fickle besh.

Fickle or feckless?

I love Jay Rayner. The “footnote” to the review is what really got me though–

The day after my visit, I am emailed by Fundamental Hospitality, the company behind Gaia, offering me a free meal in any of their “esteemed locations in exchange for coverage”. Damn. I could have saved the paper £200 (with no booze), and still written this piece.

I guess what they say is true: there’s no such thing as bad publicity?

Well it seems not many paying customers are buying in to the dream?
