Gadani new dessert place in Berkeley w PICS

I tried out Gadani on Sat 7/29/17 after eating at Ippudo. It’s off Shattuck Ave and close to Downtown Berkeley Bart.

I got the combo $7.85 because there was a 20% off discount that day. Waffle I got was Matcha, all ice cream is from Tara Ice Cream in Berkeley. I picked Geranium which tasted ok to me, and rose petal for topping - that is strange to eat rose petals but that’s just me. I did it for the Instagram.

Matcha is made-to-order in the back so it’s warm when you get it, and the ice cream melts fast. Since there’s nowhere to sit inside I had to eat it standing up and the ice cream was melting all over the place! Matcha waffle was just so-so, no matcha flavor I could taste.

Credit cards accepted. No public bathroom that I could see, but I’m not sure if there was one in the back you can use.

It’s a new thing to put ice cream in the eggette cone. I think I’d rather eat them separately.

asked the cashier source of ice cream. she mentioned Tara. i told her that’s a good brand.
also asked her why ice cream cartons were labeled “Breyers”.

she admitted only 5 of the flavors were Tara, rest were Breyers.

tried the Gadani waffle (4.95) as is. found it crisp and sweet tasting.
nothing for me to get excited about.
