Fussiness

Well thank you @NotDoobieWah!

Agree with you on that; however, the seafood buffets at major casinos are usually pretty good. Have rarely gone since moving from Reno, Nevada in 1991 - not my thing re: casinos. Do occasionally go when visiting friends or relatives.

Thought of another couple - I do remove the main strings from all celery and peel the bottom of asparagus, if tough. Cut the bottom off mushrooms, and can’t tolerate any green or black spots in potatoes. Takes me a little longer to cook sometimes… :upside_down_face:

^ We do this too. Hand washing on arriving home seems to cut down on colds and viruses.

Food-wise, I appreciate meals that are thoughtfully proportioned and seasoned. A taste of this, a bit of that.

Yet sometimes I break my own rule and douse hot sauce on my plate when I’m in the mood.

This applies to a handful of foods. Probably a carryover from airline food. There is little I can’t enjoy with a few shots of Srirachi or Valentina, depending on “country of origin”.

I don’t trust any protein at most Chinese places and will not do the buffet at all of them.

We were having one in a friend’s backyard one night and here goes a gross factor warning. We are merrily peeling, eating, talking, and drinking when one of those giant flying Texas tree roaches swoops down and lands on we’ll call him Bill’s shoulder. He flicks the creature away and moments later it returns, same shoulder, same guy. Repeat flicking, continue eating.

I would have been so grossed out that I’d burn the shirt and taken a hot shower. Not Bill, totally unfazed.

A bonus of crawfish boils is there is always more cooked than eaten as no good host wants to run out. The next day it’s more beer, peeling and take the rest home to make whatever you please with them.

After reading all this, I can only surmise I’m a slob and slacker of the highest order.
Bring on the crawfish :lobster:!

See now - That wouldn’t faze me a bit. Probably would have kept my mind off of the actual crawfish boil. Maybe I’m not so fussy after all

That would have sent me straight inside after I dropped my dish of food!

Wouldn’t have fazed me either, unless it was a biter or had fallen in my drink! Or food!

Tried water kefir? My favorite is by Kevita - I’m partial to the lemon cayenne. It has a slight lactic sour tang, fizziness, and light sweetness. Almost no calories. And I like the spicy kick.

Only fruited yogurt kefir from WFs. I liked it but more added to a shake.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but reacting impulsiveIy, I think I might be the opposite of fussy.

Ribs, corn on the cob, chicken wings, fried chicken(with bones)

Yes, yes, yes and yes! I’m into it!

Water kefir is more like a lightly effervescent fruit soda. Try it sometime!

effervescent

That’s my issue. Bubbles give me the hiccups.

Yes, the only way to eat fried chicken! And most chicken, IMHO!
