FUPO CAFE (their capitalization, not my shouting), Huron Village, Cambridge

Oh wow, that’s too bad. Did they offer any more information why they were closing? Wondering if they might resurface somewhere else.

I noticed on Tuesday morning that Google said they were “temporarily closed”. I happened to be heading Formaggio-ward later that day and noted that all their window posters (various menu items) were gone. Then I saw one of the two owners “Benny” (the other was “Jenny”) dashing out carrying a stack of kitchenware and I chatted briefly. He said “it was too much work” which doesn’t suggest that they will be reopening anywhere else.

When I walked by this afternoon, they were offering dishes/kitchenwares for free outside the door, which also suggests that they’re not planning to open again elsewhere. A bummer - they had some delicious noodles!

Grab anything good?

Alas, my Cambridge-sized apartment cannot hold any more fun dishes, so I had to pass!

I caught a post by the owner(s) on RedNote saying they took it on as a learning opportunity and have since found that it was way too exhausting to run a restaurant. :joy: They are returning to jobs in non-hospitality business and may reopen in states with warmer climate down the road.
