Frenchie South End Boston

Frenchie
Food 3.5
Service 3.5

So my wife and I wanted to try something new last evening before the theater, and so we went to Frenchie, on Tremont St where Pops (and something after Pops) used to be. It’s French inspired, and we thought it was pretty good. We had some shishito peppers (plainly sauteed, served very hot in temp), nothing special, but I love shishitos. We also had a competent Steak tartare, and a very good escargot toast for apps. My wife had the steak frites (steak OK, fries good), and I had the duck (cooked perfectly, very tasty). The bartender said they had the best creme brulee in Boston, and it was very good, very creamy, not grainy, and not too much vanilla. It may not be the best, but it’s one of the better ones I’ve tried. The bartender was OK as a server, I’d sit at a table if we return.
