Apparently you have to read everything, including the Philippine Canadian Inquirer to keep abreast of news like this.
And notice, the photo of Francis in his usually splendid attire is by me.

Nice sleuthing. New blood will help that show.
Will it ever. I can’t stand Lynn R-K…her smug tone is incredibly irritating. I generally have NPR on in my car and my house almost all the time, but when Splendid Table comes on, I change the station.
ah - I liked LRK. She has that 70’s public radio tone.
I am just listening to the show (podcast because the actual show is never on when I can listen) where she introduces Lam. I had no idea, I had missed this post.
It will be interesting to see how he alters the show to fit him. I’ll keep listening.
I don’t dislike her, but she just seems rooted in the last century.
Great Splendid Table episode this weekend: Yotam Ottolenghi and Luisa Weiss. Really love how both of them talk and write about food. The leitmotif was ‘comfort food.’
Caught it. It was good!
I caught part of a repeat of his new gig, Great American Recipe’ on PBS recently. I prefer his radio show.
Recent Splendid Table with the founder of “League of Kitchens,” an immersive cooking school concept in NYC that I loved. All the instructors are immigrant grandmothers (or grandma-adjacent ) and all lessons are taught in the instructor’s home kitchen. My first class was with a fascinating, very worldly and learned woman from Argentina (the menu was solidly Italian and not that interesting, except for the chocolate “salami” we made for dessert) and the second was life-changing: an Iraqi woman with an incredible story and a personal warmth I can’t possibly describe with mere words. I bitterly regret never having managed to take the class by the Japanese instructor!
