Francis is a wonderful casual French restaurant on LBI. It’s a small BYOB and while the atmosphere is casual the food is very good. The French chef was the executive chef at La Côte Basque in NYC before he bought an Italian deli on LBI and then opened this small French restaurant in the back room.
Last night was their opening night for the season and I had Roasted Bone Marrow & Braised Beef Short Ribs, Pickled Onions & Seasonal Vegetables.
The picture doesn’t do it justice, the short ribs were tender and flavorful set off perfectly by the pickled onions on top. Underneath was a delectable roasted marrow bone and there was an assortment of vegetables on both sides of the marrow (you can only see one side in the pic).
Glad to see you’re getting some good food down there! Keep up the good eating my friend.
