iPhone 13, ditto on reply screen being a weird size.
Thanks. Senior moment I guess.
Photo issue solved, bit the size of the reply screen is still so large that the reply button is not pressable unless I pinch the screen several times to get it accessible.
I like this update! The visuals are easier for me to read.
Do you have any solution to the reply screen size issue I’m having and someone else has reported? It’s really annoying to have to pinch the phone screen, in several directions, multiple times, to be able to hit reply. With the screen so large, the reply button is mostly off the screen and won’t respond to trying to click on it.
On a desktop IMac. Using Firefox, which says that it’s the latest version: 115.27.0esr (64-bit)
But I get a red banner that says my browser will soon be incopatible with the site.
I’m on the same version of Firefox except (32 bit version). I got a similar message, but thought it was because I was running an old Windows 7 machine.
Nope. The chevron icon makes the reply by screen disappear and a message banner appears staying that the software is the latest update. .Also this time I’ve been pinching/swiping the screen 30+ times and can’t get the reply button in place.
Does the screen just let you scroll with a finger until you get to the reply button area? Mine generally does.
Thank you… this makes sense.
I’m in the process of building a new Linux desktop and just checked. No, I’m not getting that error message on the new Linux machine that is running the latest version of Mint (22.2) and has all of its Firefox updates.
It appears to be time to finally retire the old Windows 7 machine – just shy of its 20th birthday.
No. When the reply screen first opens the reply button is in an accessible spot, but after entering a reply and pressing “DONE”, it has dropped to where it is not accessible. Hitting DONE seems to cause the issue.
Can you take a screenshot of the done button and its surroundings? I don’t think I have seen one before.
your window does look larger than normal. Two things:
-
try accessing the site with a different browser and see if it makes a difference. what’s your browser?
-
try replying at meta.discourse.org and see if the software behaves the same.
The default browser app on my phone was Chrome but I switched it to Safari. No difference in how HO functions. Screen oversized after hitting DONE and very difficult to recover.
Starting a reply on Discourse the screen worked perfectly, the way it did for me before the system upgrade.
if anyone else has had this problem and been able to resolve it please chime in.
