I’m sorry to hear this. I never know what will set me off, and I am very careful. Stomach sick or anaphylaxis? Sometimes for me it has been the miso, and then I know it is a hygiene issue. I hope your friend gets through this quickly.
Escolar would do it, but not butterfish (my favorite fish), or am I missing something here? BTW, I love butter-poached butterfish.
Thank you. We have been going to this restaurant for decades. Traffic at the restaurant has been down, and in downtown in general, due to the economy and some related issues downtown.
I usually get us futomaki and California roll to play it a little safer, lately. We had eaten surimi last night so I went for the spicy tuna roll. I order take-out sushi around once a month in LdnOnt, from around 6 of the better quality Japanese or Korean restaurants. This is the first time any of us have gotten sick in London.
I’ve gotten a little sick after one rather upscale sushi spot in Toronto. That’s only one time in the past 10 years, and over 40 sushi meals.
Good to know miso could also be a problem.
The trots. She seems to be okay now, no fever. Big relief.
I stocked up with ginger ale, Gatorade, and chicken stock just in case.
Often, what’s sold as butterfish in Canada is escolar, as far as I understand.
I’m not trying to be hard on butterfish.
Sorry, my mistake, I had forgotten about that.
