Aga’s Restaurant & Catering to add second Houston-area location
(from Chron.com, a free site)
I’ve been to Aga’s many, many times, though not in several years. The change of ownership resulted in a big upgrade in service - I’m not sure how much the recipes changed. I always thought of it and neighboring Savoy as Pakistani but I guess Indo-Pak is more appealing/less threatening (?) than just Pakistani? There did seem to me to be an abundance of Paki restaurants in that general area some years ago.
I have had the goat chops - my portion was no where near as big as that pictured in the article.

Still none anywhere near me.
Superica bows out after 8 years
Becoming a steak house.
I don’t know of it.
I’ve read about it over several years in the sources mentioned (not on HO that I know of) but never thought it was worth the trip. Just kept it in mind if I was ever up that way. I like sandwiches.
OOps - misunderstood what you were referring to - Re: Superica, one of the restos from that famed Atlanta chef who was born in Houston - don’t remember his name - I think you reported on State of Grace in River Oaks?? - that was another of his places.
As for steak:
I have also seen it claimed it’s basically Saltgrass Steakhouse at Rodeo Prices.
I’d undoubtedly pass even if I didn’t have to deal with the parking and crowds ![]()
And for something a little different:
This is Beyonce’s mom. I used to have to visit the rodeo several times a week to file reports but have not been (nor been tempted to go) for 20 years, but this is tempting. Traffic is much less of a problem and the crowds are much smaller during the day… If she’s open duirng the day I’ll be tempted. Maybe I’ll just wait to see if it’s successful enough she opens a shop or makes a deal with HEB and they start carrying it as a Texas specialty.
I saw her on the news, but I’m still not willing to brave The spring break livestock show revelers. Let us know if you try it!
