The Hitchcock episode was entitled āLamb to the Slaughterā and Dahl wrote the screenplay, based on his story. Itās one of the better episodes in the series, IMO.
There are a great many foods in the UK that are truly delicious, but their version of a comfort food, Heinz Baked Beans, is bland beyond compare.
And most Brits that I know love it!
I got a chuckle out of the statement that he was not a prolific baker.

I love that story most for the phrase āwhich were not alive.ā The lobsters had passed. They had gone on to their reward.
I canāt help but think thereās a Monty Python line here.
Pining, fjordsā¦
More like āthese were ex-lobstersā.
The NYT article about this (gift link):
She was also evicted in December 2025 from her high-end $3500/month apartment building after not paying rent for over a year and owing over $40,000 in rent.
How is she not in prison?
She WAS for awhile when she was arrested after countless dine-and-dashes - there was a $4,500 bail bond she couldnāt pay.
But the rent? It looks like NY tenant eviction laws say it can take upwards of a year, based on āmandatory court procedures, tenant defenses, and case backlogs, often involving adjournments and multiple court dates before a judge issues a warrant, with a final 14-day window for the tenant to leave after the warrant.ā
Now, the apartment WAS vacant when they changed the locks, according to the article I found and everything in there was to remain a minimum of 30 days (perhaps to be sold as partial payment of back rent?) So Iām assuming she never made bail and is eating the dreck they serve in Rikerās (which is sort of karma-ish). Sheās also overstayed her visa, per another article, so I suspect sheāll be deported back to Taiwan. Iām sure Daddy Dearest will love having to deal with his deadbeat daughter again. ![]()
