FOB Kitchen [Oakland, Temescal]

“Fancy Filipino food” as my Filipina dining companion called it. I would say it’s more Filipino classics that are very well executed. The lumpia have more filling than your typical lumpia and were perfectly fried. The pork adobo was pretty bold with a nice vinegar/soy balance, with the garlic and laurel flavors coming through the sauce. The whole milkfish was mild and perfectly fried. Pretty full on a Sunday afternoon - I’m glad to see them doing well.

They were featured on last season’s “Cook’s Country”. It inspired us to pay them a visit, and we enjoyed the food a lot.
