According to Hoodlines, Filpino fast-casual food stall Manila Bowl is coming to Market on Market in the building commonly known as the Twitter Building (1355 Market St.). Opening in this über-yuppie venue is a welcome new sign of respect for, and awareness of, Filipino cuisine. It’s been a slow process, with food trucks initially doing the outreach about seven years ago, and its first notable salvo into mainstram SOMA coming with the opening of Inay Filipino Kitchen in The Metreon in 2012.
Perhaps Savor Filipino is making progress in generating awareness of the cuisine in SF.
