The Fiddler family have been farming potatoes near Ormskirk since 1950 and now turn them in to crisps (chips to our Yank readers). I’d not heard of them before today. A surprise really as I’m a northwestern man so my DNA says I bloody well should know about local crisp production (and pies, of course). They were in a farm shop that we visited today and my eye was immediately caught by the distinct flavours. Black pudding and English mustard. Oh, yeah. That went in the basket for an Xmas treat, so I can’t yet tell you what they are like. But, as English mustard is THE accompaniment to a Bury black pudding , they are off to a racing start.
