Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th...

My biggest takeaway from that is that New Yorkers will party for ANY REASON AT ALL!

“Jewish” fried fish was also a thing in Colonial America, with Jews using olive oil rather than animal fats for frying (vegetable shortening and margarine having yet to be invented).

Love it.

I’ve been to Royal Albert Hall 3 times…

I never managed to visit for something like this!

The English band Tindersticks and Irish Oisin Leech are playing tomorrow.

We enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day meal a day early, with dinner to-go from a local café. Just right, because an entire cut of corned beef would be too much for our household of two people. Chocolate stout cupcakes for dessert.

Biscuit wishes you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day, too!

The two of us will dutifully tackle a small brisket. As much as I love the brisket dinner, the sandwiches and breakfast tacos will be treats. There may be a frittata if any is left.

It doesn’t look like Biscuit is wishing anybody anything. It looks like Biscuit is wondering, “Where’s MY share? We have a household of THREE!”

Saturday - corned beef with roasted potatoes and carrots. Sunday - corned beef and roasted potatoes and apples. Tonight: corned beef hash and eggs!
