Enjoying my cappuccino

While enjoying my cappuccino at a boutique coffee roaster I sit in the back because don’t want to look out the window to watch the civil war.

The news today from Syria is worrying. And then there’s Sudan, which doesnt bear thinking of and is enough to put me off enjoying my flat white in Costa.

By the by, several men from my village went to the “big house” of the lord of the manor when it was reported that Parliamentarian forces were on their way to lay siege to it, to force a surrender. The Royalists held out for several weeks over the winter of 1643/44 before being overwhelmed. Several men were killed in the defence, their graves being discovered much later but, of course, their names were lost.

Cappuccino?

I’m confused by this thread. What is it about, @curmudgeon?

Maybe something to do with the locked coffee thread.

Maybe. Only the OP knows.

Happy cappuccino’ing.

Yes it has to do with the locked The Price of a Cup of Coffee

Where postings were censored for politics

As they always have been, in accordance with this site’s community guidelines.

Those posts were reinstated. Unchanged so far as I can tell.

Interestingly, the locked thread (which I hadnt previously opened) referenced a post of mine from 2019 as an example of political. I’m asked about a TV drama and comment on that in the then current context. It’s not so much how political it was, or wasnt, that interests me but that a post from 5 years ago is referenced to make a point. I’m quite proud of the fact it must have resonated so significantly.

I think the intention of the reference was supposed to be for the one underneath yours that noted there was a “back room” at HO for politics discussions.

Still looking for that mysterious ‘back room.’ Is a password required? A secret handshake?

I think it was linked on a comment from Naf. Maybe DM them?

I was being facetious. I have zero interest in political discussions here, and appreciate that the guidelines forbid them.

Enjoying my Chicas Del Cafe Coffee this morning.

The Nicaraguan Canadian sisters running Chicas del Cafe have an interesting story.

On topic - I got a new espresso machine and I am now drinking a daily cappuccino in the morning, for the first time in over a decade!! (At home that is…).

I love cappuccino, but we just have a drip. I make up for it by shaking the half & half carton like a bartender to get it all foamy
