El Ranchero Taqueria and Pizzeria in [Keyport, NJ]

Keyport has several Mexican restaurants and grocery stores, but recently opened on First St is now El Ranchero.

They specialize as a taqueria, with several filling options. In addition, they make cemitas, burritos, enchiladas, sopes, guaraches, and even pizza.

You can’t go wrong with their tacos al pastor (marinated pork with pineapple, cilantro, onions). The salsa verde and salsa roja are both excellent accompanying sauces to the tacos and enchiladas.

Their FB page shows daily specials, such as pozole, mole enchiladas, and other dishes that catch me eye, which I spoke to the owner about.

Definitely have to hit this place up. Live only 5 minutes away and was at Los Corrales weekly until my schedule changed,

Cool! I lived in Keyport from the early 80s to early 90s, and there was maybe one bland Mexican place in town; you had to go to Casa Comida in ?West Long Branch? to get good Mexican. This place looks good.
(Now I’m in California, where there’s a good taco place on every other corner, but not much good pizza, and nobody makes a decent white pizza, which were easy to find in Keyport.)
