Dublin, Ireland

We are in the early planning stages of a late April 2023 trip to Dublin. Looking for neighborhoods/hotel recommendations and recent dining experiences.
Not looking for AirNB-type lodgings.
Thanks for any recs you may have!

Not that recent, but classic fish and chips ought to remain so – Leo Burdock and Beshoff. Boutique-y, both Fitzwilliam at St. Stephen’s Green and Morgan in Templebar have location to recommend them.

We enjoyed the Shelbourne. Great stay and location esp given the history

We liked staying at The Merrion.

Nice breakfast. Great location for a tourist/ traveller.

I haven’t been to Ireland since 2013, turns out the restaurants we enjoyed the most have closed.

Thank you everyone that replied to this string. But we have decided to postpone Dublin for a year and we have booked for London in April of 2023.
I will revive this thread in a bit, but for now I am re-posting for help with London.

It’s many years since we visited in Dublin, also staying at the Shelborne which then seemed in a good area for restaurants. We popped into the bar for a nightcap one evening, to find the late chef and restaurateur, Keith Floyd, there holding forth as a centre of attraction. He was there to watch a rugby match apparently.
