Fun question. I would be mor apt to dress for the company I’m dining with than the restaurant. These days, things are pretty relaxed.

So yes I’ve done this many times. When I’m on beach vacations 
my normal swimming attire is a banana hammock 
. Keeps me streamlined when swimming 🏊♂ and minimizes the untanned areas. So when I want to get lunch at the beachside restaurant, I put on a muscle shirt to cover up my pecs and slip my toes into some thongs 🩴 and head on in. Haven’t been kicked out yet. 🥸
Husband often quotes something like “the law allows many privileges that an honorable man does not access.” You can extrapolate many behaviors and situations from this.
