A disappointing lunch at this old standby.
I mistakenly ordered “Carciofi fritti” thinking of the single fried “Jewish Artichokes,” but the plate of sliced and fried pieces was just fine and enough for all of us to share. Lesson learned.
Ken had a fritura special and while the seafood tasted fresh, the result was oily and not nicely fried.
I had their version of Alla Gricia which includes artichokes. The flavor was good but the sauce was thickened in a way that I didn’t care for. We had the cicoria and it was fine–nothing special.
