Hi,
I’m looking for a restaurant within 15’ drive of Ramapo College in North NJ.
Café Panache would be perfect for us if they had any vegetarian mains on their menu…
Any ideas?
Hello nec and welcome to Hungry Onion! While I"m not as familiar with North Jersey there is this restaurant not to far from Ramapo that our esteemed member @paryzer has reviewed and enjoyed.

Cafe Panache is an excellent restaurant & I would highly recommend it. We were just there on Saturday. I’m not sure if they have any vegetarian main courses but they do have several excellent salad appetizers. We had an amazing whole Maitake mushroom appetizer in a sesame and lime soy sauce. We also had an excellent sweet corn agnolotti that can probably be made into an entree. I would call them in advance and see if Chef Kohler can make a special vegetarian entree for your party. Otherwise you may be able to order several appetizers or have them convert it to an entree size portion.

Other end of the spectrum, but if Ridgewood is within reach, Ray’s does a solid job. Village Green is another upscale (BYO) option.

Also, St. Eve’s in Ho Ho Kus is pretty good (although I haven’t been there in a while). They may not have a vegetarian entree but have a lot of nice vegetarian appetizers, including a butternut squash agnolotti with roasted chestnuts, cranberries, and sage that can be ordered as an entree. I guess you can call ahead and see if they can make a special vegetarian entree for you.

I would also recommend Saddle River Inn, in Saddle River, but that would be the same situation as the other restaurants (nice vegetarian apps but no vegetarian entrees). I haven’t been there in a while either but Chef Jamie Knott is very talented.
