Cicchetti are popular appetizers found around Venice local haunts, a popular treat during or after the workday. Heard that Mamma Francesca in New Rochelle was now serving a Cicchetti Bar Menu so I stopped by to try, while enjoying a cocktail with a view of the Queen City’s boating clubs and L.I. Sound. They brought out a sampler platter and it was loaded with flavor: grilled baby octopus, baccala Mantecato, cherry pepper calamari, and Francesca’s meatballs.
The kitchen has been making some major strides here…

When I heard that Nick at Mamma Francesca was preparing rabbit cacciatore style I rushed over one evening to have it. And it was so tasty, served on the bone with a side of pasta…I have bee enjoying that dish there for years and it did not disappoint.
