@Parsnipity and I met up for early evening snacks and wine tonight at Dear Annie , a place that we were both curious about but not a place that our respective spouses would be interested in. A sunny, cheerful spot with young and earnest service. We both enjoyed our wine choices—an effervescent red and a Sauvignon blanc. A giant salad, crudo, beans, and popcorn (gratis, I think?). We coulda/shoulda eaten more but we (I) was too distracted with chatting. I’d go back again
Thanks for putting this back on my radar screen. I need to add it to our “summer in the city” program.
Speaking of city, rereading the NYT 2022 article it always strikes me as odd when people refer to Cambridge as a suburb. In most other cities places like Cambridge and Brookline would be considered city neighborhoods. Especially Brookline. How did it end up not being incorporated in Boston??
Such a fun evening! I agree with @digga’s take- I’d go back, but probably for the wine and not so much for the food. While it was very good, I would not call it plentiful, especially for the price point. You walk up to the wine counter and discuss your pour with the staff- I was delighted with what they came up with for me when I asked for “funky sour weird”. Then food is also ordered at the counter, but there were some glitches with our food order and with assigning food to tabs. More of a sips and nibbles place. The company, however, was outstanding!
