**DAYALI, Peking Duck Specialist, Richmond Hill - Overdue, re-visit of ANOTHER neighbourhood favorite!**

Winter storm, Polar vortex, frigid record low temperature…etc. Actually, navigating these conditions wasn’t that bad?!….at least not enough to impede our gang of brave, avid, hungry foodies from venturing out to get some good Peking Duck and yummy grub!

Despite the aforementioned weather situation, the restaurant was packed when we arrived for our 5:45 PM, 2 hour time restriction, early dinner reservation! Wow! Imposing such a modus operandi constraint under these adverse elements, management must think they possess some sort of ‘Chinese JIRO‘ celebrity status?! Ha!

For sharing, our party of 7 ordered two whole Peking duck plus an array of traditional Northern cuisine dishes:

  • Brined duck liver ( Surprisingly yummy starter..and for only $8!! What a steal! )
  • Fried Yellow Croaker with scallions
  • Gold medal stir-fried pork ( Star of the evening! Heavenly savory and spicy
wok-hay creation incorporating myriads of spices and Chili peppers )
  • Dung Po Pig Knuckle ( Rich, succulent and packed with gelatinous goodness! )
  • 2X Signature crispy roasted Peking Duck with pancakes and full condiments
  • Dry, pickled shredded potatoes
  • Duck 2nd course - Stir fried diced meat and veggies with puffy doughnuts.
( Well executed, interesting and welcoming different take of the traditional
    lettuce wrap )
  • Kung Pao Shrimp balls ( Delightful! One of the best taste profile encountered )
  • Braised Taiwanese Napa Cabbage with Supreme Broth ( Flavourful, delicate
and dense. The addition of slightly sweet Goji berries and Red dates elevated
the taste profile. A masterful touch! )
  • Sauteed shredded pork with sweet bean sauce paired with Yuba skin. ( IMO,
The use of ‘cold’ yuba skin was the wrong pairing! Switching over to using
Peking duck wrap rendered a much more enjoyable experience )
  • Sliced braised beef meat wrap ( Piping hot, crispy wrapper, fun to eat! )

After consecutive weeks of Cantonese cuisine focused family dinner outings, tonight’s delightful Northern Cuisine dinner was a nice and pleasurable alternative! Lastly, for a Chinese restaurant, service was surprisingly friendly, efficient and helpful!
