I want to try Honey and Co, myself. I am following the Honey and Co Instagram profile.

I went for breakfast when it first opened, in their tiny premises on Warren St. It was a long time ago and I don’t recall what I had but I remember it was very delicious.

I’ve not been to the Market since before Covid but Maria’s was always a very decent greasy spoon type cafe. Good breakfasts

Towpath Cafe has intrigued me forever. There’s been some talk in our household about going back to London next year.

I’ve just watched the Bourdain programme. As it’s titled “London & England”, I was intrigued to see where he visited outside of London. But, of course, there was nowhere. I presume that’s because for the perception of many Americans, England IS London.

Lunch today was at Parlour, 5 Regent Street.

Cow Pie

@boneappetite, he found a marrow

bone in the Cow Pie

(Maybe it’s always part of Cow Pie? I’m only familiar with Canadian Cow Pies, which are not, ahem, something anyone would want to eat. :joy:)
Sticky Toffee Pudding

My friend liked the atmosphere at this place.
I want that Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Nah. That’s not a pie. That’s a stew with a pastry lid.

Here is the pie and mash he ordered at MotherMash. I’m not sure which location.

He thought MotherMash’s food tasted touristy.

The food was okay. In Canadian, okay means 6/10, for me, at least.

In other words, he would say don’t go out of your way for MotherMash.

I’m wondering how their pies compare to PieMinister. I thought the pies at the Oxford Market PieMinister were pretty good.

My friend declared the fried chicken sandwich at FOWL to be the best chicken sandwich he has ever had.

My friend’s dinner “at Six Portland Road (sister restaurant to Parlour), a set menu of Pumpkin soup, Wild sea bass, and Arctic roll for dessert.”

“Last day in London, I had to make it count, lunch at Aba-Ra! Crêpe roll to start, then a Khachapuris (Meat Feast)”

“The crêpe roll was good, crispy like a spring roll.”

Thank you, everyone, for your recommendations.

My friend’s stay in London has come to an end.

I did NOT enjoy my meal at St. John at all! Finding the food middle-of-the-road non-creative, the seasoning and dressing/sauces bland and repetitive.
You can check out my posting of the meal which I posted in April.
My Indian meal at the 1* Trishna was a stand-out…especially the tandooris and the crab curry. The type of tasting menu they offer is pretty rare in Canada. Again, I posted my meal around April

Sorry to hear St John was a disappointment for you.

High praise for The Ritz in the Financial Times today. Never been there either, maybe I should!
