We used to stay at Linthwaite quite regularly. It was a very comfy hotel and the restaurant was always decent enough (getting mention in the Good Food Guide - and not just on the strength of reviews I’d sent). Then it went off a bit. And the owner flogged it. And it went off more. And we havent been back.
So, Rogan opening there could be a very good bet all round. The report notes he’s moving away from his normal British food roots and the new place will offer small/sharing plates (almost fecking inevitably) with a heavy East Asian leaning. Sounds to me that he intends to take on the “Spice” restaurant at the Gilpin hotel, just up the road, with its excellent South Asian food from Michelin starred chef, Hrishikesh Desai.
