Good luck! Have a great time and make sure to take a few pics on your journey.
Part of my young childhood food memories.
Ladies and jelly spoons let me introduce/re-introduce the “entraña con cinco estrellas” from The City Tavern in Elizabeth. The stars are 1) cheese 2) onions 3) mushrooms. 4) bacon and 5) shrimp. (That’s cinco). It is fantastic.
Wow!! Looks incredible. All my faves in one cast iron skillet
On the very off chance anyone is thinking about going to Santillo’s, they just had a fire. Going to be a while before they rebuild/reopen.
Since Curlz brought this thread back to the top, let me add my useless tidbit of info about Cuisine in Eliabeth, NJ. Personally, I think the dining scene in Elizabeth went downhill after the 70’s when a very young Jr. started his career in the hospitality business. I started scrapping gum, moved to the soda machine then eventually started to learn how to be a “grill-man”. After this we moved onto more formal sit down, liquor license etc. style restaurants, bars etc.
My first job at the Meadow’s Diner, which was owned by my family from the late 50’s to mid 90’s. (Now the Seaport Diner)
