Anyone have any issues with Better than Bouillon from Costco lately? I bought a couple jars of the chicken on sale a couple of weeks ago without looking at the contents through the glass. Today I was in my pantry and happened to see a separated layer at the bottom of the jar. I shook it and found that the base was completely liquid - definitely not the usual paste texture. An off batch, or a permanent change in the formula? I’m taking these jars back to Costco, of course, but wanted to see if anyone else had encountered this issue recently.
A jar of the chicken that I got at about the same time looks fine.
Speaking of BtB chicken base, a jar of “reduced sodium” I got from a local market has 510mg of sodium per teaspoon. The Costco jar has 310mg. Hmm.
I’ve never seen that, and suspect that it was a problem that got through the QC check at the BtB factory. I’d be very surprised if Costco gave you any grief over it.
We had wild ones growing near my house when I was little. Along a street that was pretty heavily trafficked. My mom used to pick them.
It happened again this morning. I walked down the junk/sweets aisle at Costco and lots of stuff came flying toward me and into my cart. Peppermint bark. Cranberry-orange bisconies. Fritos. Some kind of dark truffles. I was attacked, I tell you!
I love peppermint bark. I didn’t know Costco carried it. Uhoh…
You need the blinders I use at TJs
And the willful amnesia abour certain products (d@mn fudge is back)
It’s not food but a huge Yay! To the Costco sized package of mighty patch!
Aka pimple patches and at a price that a mom of a teen girl can afford to keep in supply
Those chocolate truffle bites (that look like moose turds) are always landing in our cart. Not this year, tho.
I’m keeping an eye out for this panettone, it was just wonderful:
Caitlin told me about French crepe cookies at Costco; she thought they might be the same ones that only make brief appearances at Trader Joe. My friends and I love these.
I bought 2 yesterday but haven’t opened yet but I think she might be correct because both boxes use the word “enrobed” and photo of the cookie looks the same.
Love those, and I make no such vows WRT ‘not this year’. I’m especially bad at preventing those from flying into my cart!
Yesterday I was at Costco SSF and they had the FRESH Butterballs for .99 lb!!! They only had 20 pounders and I like under 15 lbs.
This morning I called downtown SF Costco. They had them but wouldn’t check size. Guy said we only get big Toms. I doubted him, jumped in my car with my friend, what do you know. Luck was with me. My friend bought one, I bought 3, one for a friend, one for thanksgiving, one to put into my freezer to save for Christmas.
All we bought were 14 lbs or less. Plenty more. Guy was too lazy to walk over and check out their supply.
I’m surprised you have a phone number to call your local Costcos! Fortunately the two closest to us are both less than five miles away, but it’d be so much easier to call them.
You can’t call yours??
When I lived in the Bay Area, I would have to call a centralized number, served many stores. I would give the store number and the item number(s).
Nope. There’s a phone number listed on the store’s website, but nobody seems to answer.
