Do I remember correctly that Bourdain learned to cook from Portuguese line cooks in the resort hotels of Cape Cod or Martha’s WineYard or something like that? I read KC a long long time ago.
This is wonderful. Why haven’t I been here in so long? Damn shame. I’ve got to go back to stopping by here regularly. Yes, I’ve been to Portugal. It’s a place where I easily could spend months & months were I younger. I hate to wax too rhapsodic about it, saying it’s the best-kept secret in Europe or something similar, because I haven’t completely given up on an extended visit there, and we all know what happened to Austin after all those magazines called it a “best-kept secret.”
